Good morning Diane and Cali Friends,

Diane, that's fantastic that you could sleep in your bed, hey two hours is more than 2 minutes right?  Sounds like each day is getting better.  My former co-worker goes in for back surgery this morning.  He said he is having a couple of discs removed and a fusion.  He has been suffering for a while, so saying prayers for him.

Yesterday 5 of us "laid off folks" from the school district got together for lunch, so much fun to see and suppot each other.  I think we will have life long friendships, we were all administrators and the only one missing was our former Superintendent but he came to the last one.  We're going to try to make this a monthly or every other month thing.

Today brings our EU general meeting and then me getting ready for my interview tomorrow.  I need to do some more research and come up with a list of questions I want to ask the Big Guns!

I am keeping the firefighters and people in harm's way in thoughts and prayers, such a devestating thing to experience.  God bless them all.

Have a wonderful day, please remember your water and sunscreen!

Hugs,
Barb

Happy Birthday to my Kid!!!!  I cannot believe I am actually old enough to have a kid that is 26 years old.  Please.......these days I'm feeling 26 myself!  I LOVE MY RNY!

Even after last night.  I had food issues big time.  We went to dinner at the Grand Buffet which is my hubby's favorite place.  I pay the price of a 6 year old.  WhooHooo!  I got a plate of chicken and broccoli, some salad and some fruit.  1/2 way through the chicken and broccoli something was soooo wrong.  Eject.  Came back and figured "well, Oscar didn't want that, lets try some fruit".  Nope.  Eject.  WTF????  Good ole stand by of cottage cheese?  Didn't even try it.  I sat there and sipped on water.  That was dinner.

My yellow lab earned her stripes last night.  We (the 3 dogs and I) were sleeping peacefully in my room.  Window wide open, blinds open (i don't have a screen on the window - some damn dog ate it already) and I was blissfully sleeping away with 2 dogs on my bed and 1 in the closet.  Joe, being a vampire night owl was out doing his thing.  He didn't give thought one to going outside and walking past my window.  Well, Roxy growled, leaped from my bed, over my dresser and out the window SNARLING at this person walking past my window!  Joe quickly let her know it was him!!!!  Then the snarls turned to licks but oh my goodness.  Looks like I have a new body guard!  Good thing to know for when Joe's out of town.  I can sleep easier!

That's it for me folls.  Time to suck down some vitamins and more water.

Good morning Diane and California,

Hope Doug is not working too hard or too many extended hours.  You know if you guys need anything, I'm here all week.  We leave on Saturday for Boston, but until then, just call and I'll get you whatever you need.

The fridge is fabulous and it is the one with the drawer on the bottom but no french doors.  Just the single door up top.  We don't have water hookup for the fridge in the house, so I didn't want all of that and everything we found that was the french door style had ice and water in the door.  I didn't want to take up the space for unneeded extras.  So I am just pleased a*****h with the one I got.

Nothing planned for today but work.  I have alot to try to finish up before I go on vacation next week,  I hate leaving unfinished work when I go away.  But I'm so swamped I may not have a choice this time. Oh well, I'll get done what I can.

So I went to the doctor yesterday for this horrible sore throat I have and talked to her about my hip.  She is pretty sure it is bursitis.  Said she could give me a cortizone shot for it in my hip, but I'm going to hold off on that for awhile.  Right now, it's painful and walking stairs is definitely a problem, but I don't have stairs at home so I don't have to worry about that.  She gave me some vicodin to help me at night as when I lie down the pain is horrible then.  I'm just going to see what happens and hope it will clear up some on it's own.  Probably wishful thinking, but I do have a high pain tolerance, so I can withstand alot if I have to.  We'll see what happens.

OK, so that is it for me at the moment.  I need to get busy working here.  Diane, please tell Doug to be careful and send a thank you to all his collegues for everything they are doing out there. I have a special place in my heart for fire fighters.  Have a few of them in my family and unfortunately lost one on 9/11 at the towers so I think I worry about them all out there as if they were all my own family.  Let's all just keep them in our thoughts.

Have a great day everyone and remember, do something wonderful just for yourself.

Oh Steph, I know the pain of bursitis~!  For years I have been having hip problems and last year I went to my knee and hip doc and asked him if there was something wrong, he did a MRI and the hip is intact, no need to for replacement...THANK HEAVENS!!!  But I do have it.  When I see my back guy in a couple of weeks, I am going to get my hip shot.  The doc told me to relax alot when it flares and to take anti-inflammatories.  It helped me alot but I want it gone.

You take care and have fun in Boston next week.  Be nice to breath air again,

Love u, D

I didn't want the shot before I go away because I just don't know how I'll react to it.  I'd rather just deal with what I know while away.  I'll just push through the pain and when it gets bad, I'll take a break.  My real worry is that it has gotten chilly back there already.  58 at noon today, 55% humidity.  I'm hoping the damp chill doesn't make it worse, especially with us staying down at the house by the beach.  But like I said, I will push through it.  I'm too excited about finally getting to go away for more than a few days.

Love u back....Steph

Good Morning Cali,

Last night , my friend (Laura) and I went to a Dodgers game and they were playing the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Dodgers lost, but my friend and I had the best time.  I had a beer with 2 hot link sandwitches. (I had something else, but I cannot talk about it. here.)   On the way home I fell asleep.

When I got home I slept like a rock.  No tossing and turning for me.

Going to check out some cars tonight.

See ya.

Good morning everybody.  It is Sept. 1.  The years just seem to go faster and faster.  I am feeling better this morning.  I think I will be able to have my surgery next week.  This sore throat, sinus thing is really going around.  I am just going to be resting again today. I am getting bored!

Terry, I think it is so great that your mother (or was it you mother-in-law) had her boobs done.  You know I love it when I see elderly people enjoying life.  My parents have acted like they were about 10 million years old as long as I can remember!  (I am 51 now).  We lived in Statham GA for a while when I was young and we had this sweetest old lady neighbor.  She drove about 10 miles per hour every where and she just looked like a sweet grandmotherly type and she was.  Well we went back to visit about 3 or 4 years after we moved back to CA and she was wearing gogo boots and miniskirts and drove like crazy.  It was so cool.  (Oh she looked good too!) She was even wearing her hair down.  She was always a great person.

I will keep the people effected by the fires and all the firemen in my prayers.  Hopefully we will get rain soon and that will help!

Everyone have a great day!
